Here’s one of the stories we’re currently working on, all the way back to 89 years ago in April 1936.
Ban Fan Dancers and Tattooed Ladies From Nova Scotia Exhibitions HALIFAX, April 27 — Fan dancers won't cavort nor will tattooed ladies display their charms at the Nova Scotia exhibition or any of the provincial fairs this year. Minister of Agriculture Hon. J. A. McDonald introduced two bills in the legislature today both of which were aimed at indecent shows and all kinds of gambling and games of chance. From the opposition leader, Colonel G. S. Harrington, came comment that the bills were aimed at “the tattooed lady or something of the sort.”
