As a nonprofit organization, The Society for Preserving the History and Art of Burlesque relies heavily on donations to help cover operational expenses, as grant funding for this type of work is limited in Nova Scotia. Our team is entirely volunteer-run; however, we do have administrative costs, including web hosting, digital and physical storage, printing, reference materials, memberships and subscriptions, presentation supplies, and archival retrieval fees.

Any donation, no matter the size, is greatly appreciated. Every contribution directly supports our work to preserve the history of burlesque in Nova Scotia. ​As a registered nonprofit and not a registered charity, we are unable to issue charitable tax receipts at this time.

Land Acknowledgement 
PHAB NS acknowledges that the work we undertake takes place on Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people. These lands hold histories and knowledge systems that extend beyond colonial records, including those maintained through language, oral tradition, and cultural practice. As we document and preserve the history of theatre in this region, we do so with recognition of the longstanding presence and contributions of Mi’kmaq communities. We recognize the importance of listening to and respecting Indigenous knowledge, and of acknowledging the broader historical context in which this work takes place.
